The 12th annual Business Analysis Conference Europe 2020 took place recently 22-23 September and we were delighted that this, our first ever virtual Conference received positive feedback from our delegates, speakers, partners and sponsors. We had delegates join us from as far away as Japan, South Africa and Canada.

Feedback from the Conference includes:

“With regards to the conference I thought it was great. It was really well run and all the sessions were helpful. I think the format worked really well and it was great to be able to ask questions at the end of the sessions and during without disrupting the flow of the speakers. The access to the content for 9 months afterwards is going to be invaluable with regards to sharing the learning with the rest of my BA Community. Thanks again.”
– Marcia Burgess , Head of Business Analysis – HM Land Registry.

“I have to say that I was impressed by how well the conference was organised, using a range of technologies that delivered a really good virtual experience.  I’m going to enjoy taking my time over the next 9 months to work through the different recorded sessions. My ‘takeaways’ from this conference will be the key notes, powerful messages that were inspirational.”
– Fraser Morris, Sophia Works Ltd.

“Just a quick note to say congratulations! The Business Analysis Europe Conference is always an incredible experience with such a buzz, energy and atmosphere and despite the move to the virtual world, somehow you managed to capture the same vibe and sense of community. As always the calibre of speakers was superb, the subject matter extremely relevant, often cutting edge and the opportunities for networking and peer-to-peer learning many. It feels like you pulled off something of a miracle!”
– Rachel Drinkwater, Senior Business Analyst, Coventry University.

The Conference was the usual blend of keynotes, sessions and workshops. Highlights for me included the powerful and emotional keynote by the renowned Welsh Referee Nigel Owens and the inspirational keynote by the Business Coach and Author René Carayol.  Of course, I also loved the virtual drinks reception hosted by Diego Esteban in Buenos Aires, Argentina!

Other Conference milestones:

The Business Analyst of the Year Award one again took place, a huge congrats to Taz Wafa from the Bank of England for winning.

The launch of the Young Business Analysts group took place at the Conference (well done to Kay Hardy and Lauren Howes.)

Also new for the Conference was the BA Conference Extra by Adrian Reed which featured speaker interviews, competitions and more!

A comprehensive blog post by AssistKD here.

A thoughtful review of the conference by CMC here.

Grant Wright entertained throughout the Conference with his wonderful sketches, see below for his output from the keynote with Nigel Owens.

Thanks to everyone who made the Conference another success. As always, this Conference was produced by IRM UK, AssistKD, BCS, the Chartered Institute for IT and the UK Chapter of the IIBA UK. The Advisory Board once again deserves a special mention for working tirelessly in making this Conference another success.

We are already looking forward to another successful Conference in 2021 (which will hopefully be a hybrid event).
